Senior Home Care Solutions was started in 2010 by Sheila after dealing with her own experiences with friends and family and the desire to find qualified people to help keep loved ones in their own homes for as long as possible.
Sheila is a graduate of Alfred University (’91) and has a wide variety of experience in various industries that makes her a truly unique provider.
She is also involved in the Fayetteville Senior Center, Manlius Senior Center, Fayetteville-Manlius chambers, WBOC (Women Business Opportunities Connections) and has experience teaching, care-giving, fundraising and is involved in her church.
Melanie is a LPN graduate from OCM Boces. She has volunteered for Meals on Wheels and has a special interest in Alzheimer’s disease and cared for seniors with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
In her free time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her family of 6, cooking and baking.
Nicole joined Senior Home Care Solutions in 2015 after her and her Husband closed their electrical contracting business where Nicole was the Operations Manager. Although she has a special interest for helping and caring for people, most of her background is in the corporate office including Mark Russell & Associates, Ameriprise Financial and the Museum of Science and Technology.
Nicole spends her free time with her family and also enjoys painting, sports and bow hunting.
Annmarie has spent extensive time as a care-giver for her Grandfather and has volunteered at Syracuse Homes in Baldwinsville, NY.
She holds two degrees from SUNY OCC, one of which is in Information Technology and the other is in General Studies.
Annmarie loves spending time with her two boys, painting, history and art.
Rose was a former business owner of a True Value Hardware store. She has personal and professional experience with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. In the past, she has served as a Sunday School teacher and the director of the Christian Education for Trinity Lutheran Church.
Rose has received certificates in Gerontology and Alzheimer’s & Dementia and has a degree in general dentistry as a RDA. She is married with two daughters.
Mary was previously an LPN at Jolenta Convent for several years and has extensive experience with Alzheimer’s and working with seniors.
She owns her own business called Ageless Attitudes where she makes adaptive clothing for seniors and the disabled.
Mary enjoys to cook, garden, read, sew, travel and spend time with her grandchildren.
Bernadette has cared for elders and family members with Alzheimer’s and dementia. In the past she worked for an insurance company for eight years specializing in claims and underwriting.
She is married and a mother of three and has a stepdaughter in Wisconsin. She is a member of Immaculate Conception church and loves to go running in her free time
Sue is a LPN with 33 years of experience in long term care, specializing in Alzheimer’s and dementia. Other areas of experience have included behavioral health, pediatric home care and arthritis health.
She is married and the mother of three grown children. She enjoys reading, crosswords, growing plants, church and spending time with her grandson.
Lisa has personal and occupational experience working with Alzheimer’s, cancer patients and E.A.T. (Equine Assisted Therapy), with physically and mentally disabled adults and children.
Lisa is an equine trainer and instructor of students. She volunteers as a 4-h leader, and for local animal rehabilitation centers. Lisa enjoys working working with children, adults and the elderly.
Patty was a respiratory therapist at the VA Medical Center before she had children. She loved socializing with her patients and keeping them company. Patty loves meeting people and making new friends, which helps her home-based business of networking and nutrition.
Originally from Michigan, she has nine siblings and two children of her own. Family is her priority and she enjoys reading, hiking and travel.
Tom has more than 11 years of experience in family care services to individuals with a variety of needs including Alzheimer’s and dementia. He received extensive training from Hospice of CNY, and continues to volunteer his services with Hospice as well as Francis House in Syracuse. He’s also a “handyman” and loves to help people with household issues.
Su was an LPN at St. Joe’s Hospital and Sunnyside Nursing Home before starting her family. She has been a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) and a foster mom. She has been working full time with the Syracuse City Schools for 17 years as a Health Aide working in multiple schools in the nurses office.
Su loves being a care giver for all ages and is really enjoying the experience with clients and co-workers at Senior Home Care Solutions. She loves family, friends, swimming, water skiing and traveling.
Amanda is currently going to school for nursing. She has three dogs and a few other small animals at home. As a teenager, her father and she would care for her great Aunt.
On her free time, Amanda enjoys hiking, crocheting, reading and photography.
Deborah has worked for the elderly for several years and thoroughly enjoys the experience. She likes how rewarding it is to make a positive difference in someone’s life.
Kathy has devoted the last 30+ years caring for a variety of patients in the geriatric population and has experience with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She enjoys how rewarding it feels to brighten someone’s day.
In the past, Kathy has held certificates as CMA, CNA and CHHA. She also has a love for animals in need.
Kirk has worked in the banking business since 1980. He was in residential mortgage banking since 1987.
Kirk is #6 of 7 boys in his family and has been married to his wife, Mary Ann for 30+ years. He has extensive experience caring for loved ones with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia, including sun downing.
He has been described as “engaging” which he feels is an accurate description of himself.
Bridget has a teaching degree and has worked for the state for people with disabilities for 10+ years. She is also first aid and CPR certified. She has cared for her in-laws whom are both blind and suffer from memory loss.
Bridget has two children and loves animals.
Kristin is a very happy person who is eager to please. As a mother of four, she loves playing games, cards, cooking and learning new recipes. Kristin is an Elementary major.
Rosalee has worked for Senior Home Care Solutions for 4+ years. She has over 25 years experience in healthcare and education. Her goals for her clients are to provide safety, companionship, comfort and independence. She understands that seniors have lived lifetimes rich with meaningful and valuable experiences.
As an LPN, she believes in being pro-active when it comes to suggesting strategies in daily activities which may help clients remain safely independent. She enjoys literature, art, music, history, sports, theater, cooking and volunteering in the community.
Michelle’s first experience with Alzheimer’s was with her father. “It is a heartbreaking disease,” says Michelle. “I learned to be patient, understanding and not to argue.” Michelle volunteered Syracuse Home for about a year.
Michelle has a bachelor’s degree from Kean University in New Jersey. She lives in Baldwinsville with her husband and Chinese Crested Powder Puff, Bogey. She enjoys golf, SU football, basketball and gardening.
Karen has worked in the banking industry in the areas of customer service, training, trust services and management for over 25 years. She has spent 8 years as a dental receptionist working in offices in Syracuse, Richmond KY and Queensbury, NY.
Karen has been married for 40+ years and her and her husband have raised two children together. She helped care for her mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s for over 10 years. She also helped care for other elderly relatives helping them with errands. Karen’s biggest enjoyment in life and in work is working with and being with people. She also enjoys reading, traveling, walking and spending time with family.
Pat is a native of New Jersey and lived outside of Boston, MA where she taught school. After her husband was relocated to the Syracuse area, she returned to part time work in parks and recreation for the Syracuse City Parks and Rec Dept where she developed all the cultural activities for city parks including working with the older adults in all of the city high rises and developed a senior theater program. Her diversified background included more program and outreach for older adults in the towns of Clay and Manlius.
She was involved in numerous professional organizations in the area and has received several awards for work with older adults.
Pat was one of the prime organizers of County senior games and later worked on State and National senior games.
Pat has a son and family who live outside of Charlotte, NC where she makes frequent visits to see her two grandchildren.
She loves the outdoors, hiking, gardening and visits to Henderson Harbor, NY where she had a home on the lake for many years.
Eileen taught fifth grade in the Syracuse Diocese School system for 10 years. She graduated an an RN from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and retired after 17 years as a nurse in dialysis services, working with a great number of elderly patients during this time.
Eileen enjoys spending time with her family including her five grandchildren. Her hobbies include knitting, learning how to sew and many other crafts.
Pat grew up in Penn Yann, NY in the heart of the finger lakes. She became obsessed with its beauty which caused her love for photography. She has been a professional photographer for 30+ years covering weddings, portraits, events and sporting events. Pat is the photographer for the International Boxing Hall of Fame and has traveled across the country photographing boxing matches.
Pat is in her sixth year of owning and operating PB & J Lunch Box, LLC, a mobile food cart.
Her mother lives with her and suffers from dementia.
Judy worked many years as a veterinary technician then decided to work with people in the medical field. She became a certified medical assistant and ended up working for an ophthalmologist, where most of the patients were elderly. This is where she found her passion for working with the elderly.
Judy is married and has three dogs and three cats who keep her very busy. When she is not taking care of the household, she enjoys to read, knit, snowshoe and cross country ski.
Theresa has been a married, stay at home mom for 17 years and has home schooled her daughter for 9 years. She is a graduate from Central Square and has four children and eight grandchildren. As if that doesn’t keep her busy enough, she has three horses, a dog and two cats.
Theresa enjoys watching and helping her daughter with her competing in Barrel Racing.
Jaclyn is currently working as a school bus driver in the Baldwinsville school district. She is also attending school towards a bachelor’s degree in social work.
In the past, Jaclyn worked as a mail carrier and served in the United States Air Force. In her early work experience, she worked with seniors as a resident aide at CNA.
Jill grew up in Central Square and graduated with a degree in cabinet making and Environmental studies at SUNY Morrisville. She lived in Alaska for eleven years building eco-friendly cabins.
In her free time, Jill enjoys snowboarding, swimming and hiking with her dog, Gracie.
Sharon worked 17 as travel agent where she was able to travel to beautiful cities, islands and countries. She also volunteered for the CNY Cat Coalition helping to rescue cats and kittens in hopes they would soon be adopted by a loving family.
Heather is a certified pharmacy technician from OCM Boces with five+ years experience working with seniors with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
She loves her dog, Max, spending time with friends and family, reading, cooking, baking and crafts.
Mary has been med certified, first aid trained, CPR trained and worked physical therapy in a group home with mentally challenged adults.
In her free time, Mary loves to read and crochet. She has two cats at home.
Jessica is a mother of two beautiful girls. She has been married for 18 years and lives in Minoa, NY. She has been in the human services field for over twenty years assisting individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and mental health diagnosis. Helping those in need is Jessica’s passion and what she feels she has been called to do in life.
In her spare time, Jessica enjoys attending her neighborhood book club, hiking, dinner out, and visiting family out of town.
Kristie is a mom of three girls. She started working with the elderly as a Beautician in a nursing home. She was also a part-time care-giver for her grandmother who suffered with Alzheimer’s.
In her spare time, Kristie loves baking, crafting, fishing and walking her dog.
Emily is a SUNY Oswego graduate. She has a BA in Human Development. She has worked in the Alzheimer / dementia community for the past two years.
Originally from the Long Island area, Emily has traveled across the country to Wyoming to visit Yellowstone National Park. She loves to stay active by hiking and exercising and enjoys painting and reading as well.
Andrea also works as a security manager at the Everson Museum of Art. She is working on her master’s degree online. She has two teenage girls.
Andrea has two gentlemen whom reside with her that are Down Syndrome. They have been a part of her life for over ten years. She also has a household full of pets.
Originally Andrea went to college for horse racing and training. She raced horses for a few years and then decided to switch gears.
Melanie became a Home Health Aid when she was 22 years old. She has also worked with people with mental physical impairments, Alzheimer’s, and dementia and she takes great pride in the care she gives to others.
During her spare time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her daughter, working in her community, and singing.
Julie has been caring for seniors for over 30 years. She feels that the best feeling to have is the feeling you get when you can make a difference in someone else’s life.
Sherri is a cook by day for a local school district where she loves to put smiles on 200 kids faces during breakfast and lunch. She has a lot of hobbies which include making soups and desserts, which are her specialty.
In her free time, Sherri engages in kickboxing, running and lifting weights. She has a love for painting Mackenzie Childs decor and landscaping. Her favorite place to be is the Adirondack’s where she can enjoy nature and be outside hiking.
